TIME OF ADORATION Each parish in the diocese is being asked to offer a special time of Eucharistic Adoration. On Wednesday, June 12th we will begin with 9:00 AM Mass. After Mass there will be Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until noon. The church will be open for prayer – please sign up for a prayer time on the sheet in the gathering space. We want to have people in the church all morning. At noon there will be a short Benediction service. Please join us on this special day devoted to our love of Jesus in the Eucharist.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS We all serve our church, family and community in various ways and we are so thankful for your commitment here at St. Francis. Please take the time to read this message and consider helping our religious education program. Last year, we held religion classes here at St. Francis for our K-5th graders (Sundays) and our students in grades 6-11 attended the Cathedral program (Wednesdays). Our goal is to build on our ongoing program. For this to happen we need to have parishioners who are willing to work with our youth. Please consider helping by teaching in our program. It could be a team approach such as friends, husband/wife team or we could find you a team member. Do not doubt that you cannot do this. The lessons are created; great volunteers to help you and most importantly great youth that want to continue learning about our Lord. Call Donna at 910-242-2353 if you are interested in working with our religious education program. You can make a difference in our children’s lives.

The St. Francis Altar Society will have their ANNUAL ‘THIS & THAT’ SALE on SEPTEMBER 8-9. Please begin saving your items for this event. Also please remember the following are not allowed: clothing, bedding, or furniture. For more information, please call Paulette White at 715-399-8564.

ITEMS OF IMPORTANCE: LOOKING AHEAD – MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL Members of our society speak every day with people who are homeless. This time of year, you will see the faces of homeless often – people sleeping in public places, holding signs on street corners, walking with their possessions, etc. Our local society continues to help as best we can to aid people in maintaining and securing housing. As we meet often with people who are homeless, we help direct people to the help they need to overcome these obstacles. We pray with them. We often assist with food, transportation, phones and other basic needs to improve the quality of their lives. If you know of someone who is homeless, please have them leave a message at 715-398-4039. CAMPING GEAR With the affordable housing shortage, shelters remaining full and affordable motel stays unavailable during much of the tourist season – many households need to resort to camping. If you have tents, sleeping bags and camping supplies and would like to donate them to someone in need, please contact us at 715-398-4039. Thank you.
