CSA NEWS: The Annual Bishops Appeal (Catholic Service Appeal) will begin here the weekend of September 27 – 28. We will watch the Bishop’s video at all masses. Commitment starts that weekend! Please be as generous as you can as our Appeal this year is $67,773. We appreciate your prayers and support.
THE MISSION STATEMENT OF THE SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT de PAUL STATES: “Vincentians witness God’s love by embracing all works of charity and justice…the Society makes no distinction in those served because, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ.” Have you considered answering the call to help serve the poor by joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS: Preregistration for our Sunday morning Religious Education Program (K-5) will begin on the weekend of September 27 – 28, after all masses at the back of the church. Come meet Amanda Marin at the registration table for materials. Classes begin on Sunday, Oct 5th and registration will also be held that day in the garden room entrance before classes. Older students (grades 6 – 11) will attend the Cathedral Program on Wednesday evening. Registration can be done through the Cathedral. MINISTRY SCHEDULE FOR SEPTEMBER, OCTOBER & NOVEMBER: If there is a service you are scheduled to cover and you can’t be there, please find a replacement. Thank you for your help. We are always in need of CROSS BEARERS, READERS, SERVERS, COMMUNION MINISTERS, AND USHERS. Training is offered. Please consider serving your parish family in one or more of these ministries.
COMMUNITY ROSARY: Friday, October 3rd at 6pm in the garden room. Social will follow.

THINKING AHEAD TO THE HOLIDAYS Every year the ladies of our altar society as well as the crafters who meet in our parish hall on Wednesdays, prepare gifts for the residents of Dove Health Care (formerly St. Francis Nursing Home). These ladies are asking for some of the following items: wheel chair & walker bags, hat & mitten sets, ponchos, shrugs, lap robes, blankets, pillow cases, fidget blankets, greeting cards, stationery, postage stamps, playing cards, and large print crossword and word search books. If you would like more information, or have other suggestions for the residents, please call Arlene at 218-341-1665.

JOIN THE CHOIR: The choir leads us in song on Sunday, at 10:30 mass. The group practices at 10 am, prior to mass. All are welcome to join. Please talk to Choir Director, Rachel Inselman, for further information.

ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI: Come celebrate the life and legacy of St. Francis Assisi with soup, homemade bread, lively conversation, and pray with today’s Franciscans. STITCHERS: Do you cross-stitch, embroidery, hardanger, applique, quilt, crochet or knit? Superior Stitchers is gathering all types of needle crafters, from all denominations here in Superior. The group was formed to provide a space for all different types of needle work to gather for fellowship and share skills with others. Superior Stitchers meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 1 – 3:00 pm at Zion Lutheran, 2022 East 2nd street, Superior. Come join us September 11th.
