ST. FRANCIS MINISTRY SCHEDULE

We are hoping to begin a full ministry schedule (cross bearers, candle bearers, gift bearers, lectors, servers, communion ministers, ushers) this September. If you have helped in the past and do not want your name on the new schedule, please call the parish office. If you have never helped before and desire to now participate, please let us know as well. We need many volunteers! Training for the various positions will be offered. This is another sign of getting back “to normal!” This schedule would run from September 11-12 through November 27-28.


LOOKING AHEAD

We are planning the return of our annual Ice Cream Social! It will take place on Saturday, August 14th following 4:00 Mass. All are invited as we celebrate our faith community and Fr. Jim’s birthday! (August 15th) Mark your calendars and plan to join us.

ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY

The Altar Society is planning their “This N That” Sale on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th, from 8 AM – 2 PM each day. We are asking for donations of household items, purses, books, craft/sewing items, fishing items, pet supplies. House plants and garden items…just to name a few. This sale will NOT INCLUDE CLOTHING, BEDDING or TOWELS. You may bring your items to church on September 4th and 5th before or following Masses. You may also bring your items on September 7, 8, and 9 between 9 AM an 4 PM. Please use the 4th Street Parish Hall entrance. If you can help with set-up on the 7th 8th or 9th or clean-up on the 11th, please contact Paulette at 715-399-8564.


FUNERAL LUNCHEONS/RECEPTIONS

The Altar Society has begun to serve funeral luncheons/receptions. They are in need of ladies and men to help during these luncheons. If you are willing to serve at these parish functions, please call Irene at 218-393-4825 or Sue Koehler at 715-398-6787. Thank you!


CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS

Cathedral School is currently looking for a Middle School Social Studies teacher and a Middle School Religion teacher. Cathedral is a Preschool through Grade 8 WRISA accredited Catholic School in Superior. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in lesson differentiation and instructional practices as related to middle school social studies and the Catholic faith. We also have additional part time positions currently available – either Middle School can be combined with the following to create a full-time position – Elementary Music Teacher (Kindergarten – 5th grade) and an Art teacher (Kindergarten – 8th grade). SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DePaul

Have extra camping gear? Construction season is in full swing, tourists are in town. Shelters are full as well as motel rooms. So, we have been helping many who are homeless with tents and camping gear. If you have supplies you would be willing to donate, please contact us at 715-398-4039.


COVID UPDATE

*Masks are no longer mandated in church. However, you are encouraged to wear a mask

should you feel more comfortable. Please keep proper social distancing.

*Confessions are now being celebrated in the Reconciliation Room on Saturdays from 3:15-3:45 PM.

*The parish hall door is now open for weekend Masses. The 4th Street parish hall entrance allows for access to the new elevator.

*Bowls of Holy Water are now in the fonts. The water will be changed regularly.
