ST. FRANCIS MINISTRY SCHEDULE

We are hoping to begin a full ministry schedule (cross bearers, candle bearers, lectors, servers, communion ministers, ushers) this September.If you have helped in the past and do not want your name on the new schedule, please call the parish office.If you have never helped before and desire to now participate, please let us know as well.We need many volunteers!Training for the various positions will be offered.This is another sign of getting back “to normal!”This schedule would run from September 11-12 through November 27-28.

ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY

The Altar Society is planning their “This N That” Sale on Friday, September 10th and Saturday, September 11th, from 8 AM – 2 PM each day. We are asking for donations of household items, purses, books, craft/sewing items, fishing items, pet supplies. House plants and garden items…just to name a few. This sale will NOT INCLUDE CLOTHING, BEDDING or TOWELS. You may bring your items to church on September 4th and 5th before or following Masses. You may also bring your items on September 7, 8, and 9 between 9 AM an 4 PM. Please use the 4th Street Parish Hall entrance. If you can help with set-up on the 7th 8th or 9th or clean-up on the 11th, please contact Paulette at 715-399-8564.


ST. FRANCIS SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE

The Social Action Committee is once again collecting school supplies for the upcoming 2021-22school year. There is a container in the gathering space of the church for you to place your donations of backpacks, pencils, pens, rulers, notebooks, folders, crayons, washable markers, etc. etc. Questions can be directed to Janet at 715-394-4130 or Sue at 715-398-6787.


CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS

Cathedral School is currently looking for a Middle School Social Studies teacher and a Middle School Religion teacher. Cathedral is a Preschool through Grade 8 WRISA accredited Catholic School in Superior. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable in lesson differentiation and instructional practices as related to middle school social studies and the Catholic faith. We also have additional part time positions currently available – either Middle School can be combined with the following to create a full-time position – Elementary Music Teacher (Kindergarten – 5th grade) and an Art teacher (Kindergarten – 8th grade). Registration for all grades is now open. Any questions please call the school at 715-392-2976.


SCHOOL SISTERS OF NOTRE DAME

The School Sisters of Notre Dame hold a special place in St. Francis Xavier’s Catholic Church history, serving at the parish school as far back as 1893-1982! In the fall of 2021, the sisters will move from their Elm Grove convent to Trinity Woods, a new intergenerational residence on the Mount Mary University Campus. The sisters are raising funds for a new chapel that will be built on the campus. Through your financial support, the sisters will have a sacred space for prayer and the celebration of sacraments. SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT DePaul

Have extra camping gear? Construction season is in full swing, tourists are in town. Shelters are full as well as motel rooms. So, we have been helping many who are homeless with tents and camping gear. If you have supplies you would be willing to donate, please contact us at 715-398-4039. Thank you for your support of our society. You make the difference in so many lives of adults and children each day. God Bless You! Financial support can be sent to SVDP at 1416 Cumming Ave. $.95 of every dollar donated goes directly to provide for basic needs of those we serve.


COVID UPDATE

*Masks are no longer mandated in church. However, you are encouraged to wear a mask.

Please keep proper social distancing.

*Confessions are now being celebrated in the Reconciliation Room on Saturdays from 3:15-3:45 PM.

*The parish hall door is now open for weekend Masses. The 4th Street parish hall entrance allows for access to the new elevator.

*Bowls of Holy Water are now in the fonts. The water will be changed regularly.

*Seasonal Missalettes and Gather Hymnals are back in the pews for your use.

*More information will follow when available.
