RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS: Registration for our Sunday morning Religious Education Program (K-5) is still open. Classes begin on Sunday, Oct 5th and registration will also be held that day in the garden room entrance before classes. Older students (grades 6 – 11) will attend the Cathedral Program on Wednesday evening. Registration can be done through the Cathedral. For further information please call Amanda Marin at the parish office 715-398-7174.
FOOD SHELF NEWS: Our parish food shelf has been very busy this fall. Your donations are needed – especially financial gifts and food cards. You can also drop off food donations in the box at the back of the church. Food items needed – Soup, mac-n-cheese, canned tuna, canned chicken, spaghetti and meatballs, peanut butter and jelly, cereal, canned fruit and 64oz juice.
COMMUNITY ROSARY: Friday, October 3rd and November 7th at 6pm in the garden room. Social will follow.

PARISH REGISTRATION: If you would like to register as a member of our parish, there are registration forms on the table in the gathering space of our church. As a registered member you will receive the parish bulletin semi-monthly, contribution envelopes as well as other parish mailings. We look forward to meeting you!
THINKING AHEAD TO THE HOLIDAYS Every year the ladies of our altar society as well as the crafters who meet in our parish hall on Wednesdays, prepare gifts for the residents of Dove Health Care (formerly St. Francis Nursing Home). These ladies are asking for some of the following items: wheel chair & walker bags, hat & mitten sets, ponchos, shrugs, lap robes, blankets, pillow cases, fidget blankets, greeting cards, stationery, postage stamps, playing cards, and large print crossword and word search books. If you would like more information, or have other suggestions for the residents, please call Arlene at 218-341-1665.
ALTAR SOCIETY MEETING: is scheduled for Thursday November 6th at 1 pm in the Parish Hall. Contact Arlene Osterlund or Mary Jo Uhlenkott for further information. The meeting minutes can be found on the St. Francis Xavier website www.stfrancisxaviersuperior.com
JOIN THE CHOIR: The choir leads us in song each Sunday, at 10:30 mass. The group practices at 10 am, prior to mass. All are welcome to join. Please talk to Choir Director, Rachel Inselman, for further information.
THANK YOU to the Cathedral School children who recently gave food donations to our parish food shelf.
MEATBALL SUPPER: St Anthony Church - Save the date, Tuesday October 7th – 4:00 – 6:30PM. Menu includes: Meatballs, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Vegetable, Pickled Beets, Dinner Roll, Dessert & Beverage. $15 for Adults, $7 for students under 12 years of age free for 5 and under.

CSA NEWS: The Annual Bishops Appeal (Catholic Service Appeal) began here the weekend of September 27 – 28. Please be as generous as you can as our appeal this year is $67,773. We appreciate your prayers and support. Materials were included with the bulletins you received in the mail and there are extra envelopes at the back of the church.
THE DIOCESE STORE: The Diocese has opened its online merchandise store again for the fall of 2025. Please see the poster on the bulletin board at the back of the church for the QR code or markitmyway.chipply.com/dioceseofsuperior to place you order. Store closes October 9th.
FALL CHICKEN DINNER: St. Rose of Lima 2 Sixth Ave, Proctor MN- Sunday October 12th, 2025 12:30 – 3:30PM. Adults $12, Children under 12 - $6, Under 5 years old Free.
THE CATHOLIC DAUGHTERS will meet on Monday, October 13th at Holy Assumption Church at 4:00 PM. Our speaker will be from the KC’s. Pizza will be ordered. Anyone interested in becoming a Catholic Daughter is welcome to attend our meetings. The November 10th meeting is at the Keyport Restaurant at 11AM.
