+This Monday, May 27th we celebrate Memorial Day. Fr. Jim will offer Mass at St. Francis Cemetery beginning at 9 AM – weather permitting. Mass will be offered in church s should bad weather prevail. A light breakfast will be served in the parish hall following the Mass. There is no charge and all are welcome!
The parish office is closed on Monday – regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 28th. In case of an emergency please call 715-398-7174.
AN ALERT: Recently there have been individuals lingering around the church premises who are asking parishioners for money. PLEASE do not give cash to any people begging in church entryways or the parking lots. The parish has an active food shelf and supports the St. Vincent DePaul Society which assists people in need. Thank you!
ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY extends a huge THANK YOU to all who helped in anyway with last weekend’s “This N’ That” Sale. Thank you to those who sorted, set up, worked at the sale, shopped and to those who loaded up the remaining “treasures” for pick up. The net total was $2,157.06.
KC COUNCIL 499 will meet on Tuesday, June 4th St. Anthony Parish, Superior. Recitation of the rosary at 6:30 PM followed by business meeting at 7 PM.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES AT CATHEDRAL SCHOOL We are currently looking to fill positions for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. These include full-time Kindergarten Teacher, full-time 3K teacher, Middle School Music, Middle School Science, Middle School Social Studies and Middle School Language Arts. CHASA participates in several programs which generate money for our school. We collect Box Tops for Education, Coke Rewards, aluminum cans, cancelled stamps and Loaves for Learning. Our first grade is collecting pop-tops to purchase children’s wheelchairs for Shriners Hospitals.
8th GRADE GRADUATION We are proud to announce that Cathedral School has 12 graduating 8th grade students in the class of 2019. Students will be presented with diplomas during a special parent/student ceremony at the Blue & Gold Graduation Mas on Thursday, May 30th.
TOTUS TUUS IN SUPERIOR/ JUNE 9-14/CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING The curriculum and registration forms are available in the gathering space of the church. The focus of instruction will be the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary and the Sacraments. This year’s Totus Tuus will take place in Kress Hall. SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL Our society has an abundant supply of spring and summer clothing in all sizes and household goods. If you know of someone in need, please have them call us for an appointment so we may assist them. (715-398-4039) Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 28th at 6 PM at the Catholic Charities Building, 1416 Cumming Avenue.
With area shelters running full families with children and pregnant mothers are seeking assistance with shelter and motels. We are once again asking for usable tents. Please pray for these families and for an increase in shelter options.
