This Wednesday, March 6th, we begin the Season of Lent. Masses, along with distribution of ashes, will take place at 9 AM and 6 PM.
Attached to your bulletin this week you will find a 2019 LENTEN CALENDAR. The calendar includes Daily Scripture Meditations and the parish schedule for our parish services and activities. Also, please note the TRADITIONAL LENTEN DISCIPLINES are also included with the calendar. Please take one home so you can be informed of this information. There are more on the table in the gathering space if you wish to take one to someone who cannot be here.
RCIA AT ST. FRANCIS Are you an adult who has never been baptized? Are you a non-Catholic who is interested in joining the Catholic Church community? Are you an adult seeking Confirmation? Please consider joining RCIA at St. Francis. Fr. Jim will conduct sessions on Thursday evenings (6:30-8:00 PM) in the Garden Room. These sessions will begin on March 7th and continue through April 11th. Call the parish office at 715-398-7174 to register. New members are welcomed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 20th.
ST. FRANCIS PARISH ENGAGEMENT SURVEY This past fall church members completed a survey regarding parish life at St. Francis. Results, which include comments by parishioners, can be found on the table in the gathering space. Thank you.
ST. FRANCIS PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at 4:30 PM in the Garden Room. Parishioners are always welcome!
ST. FRANCIS FOOD SHELF Thank you for continuing your generous donations of non-perishable food items as well as gift cards and monetary donations to our food shelf. We currently serve 3-5 families each week. We are low on the following: cereal, peanut butter, soup, tuna fish and boxed potatoes. Your donations can be placed in the wooden box near the ramp entrance. Thank you!

ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY will meet on Thursday, March 6th at 1:00 PM in the Garden Room. Hostess for the afternoon will be Arlene Osterlund. All ladies of the parish are welcome!
ACTIVITY BAGS are now available for small children attending Mass. The smallest bags for the younger children contain “Colors of Faith Bears” that become the property of the children. They should continue to utilize these bags and bears when they come to Mass. The larger bags contain books that explain different aspects of the Catholic Faith. These bags and books should be returned as children leave church. Each bag has a different book, so children can expect to get a different book each time they come to Mass. All bags can be found in the cry room next to the elevator.
NOW HIRING The Diocese of Superior is seeking a full-time administrative assistant at the Chancery in Superior. This position provides clerical and administrative support for the activities and special projects of the Chancellor, Director of Administrative Services and Charter for Youth Protection Coordinator. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma/equivalent and at least one year of post high school administrative/clerical training. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and Publisher) and the use of general office equipment, ability to prioritize work; strong attention to detail, proofreading, problem solving organizational and time management skills. ST. ANTHONY CHURCH will be serving the annual Lenten Fish Dinner each Friday during Lent beginning on March 8 from 4:30 PM - 7:00 PM. Adults - $10, student $5, and pre-school are free. The facility is handicapped accessible and take-out orders are available.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL 499 will meet on Tuesday, March 5th beginning with the rosary at 6:30 PM and meeting at 7:00 PM AT St. Anthony Parish. There will be two state
officers present who will speak to the members.
CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS Preschool registration is now open. Cathedral Preschool offers a 3 and 4 year old program. Please contact Amanda Schnell at 715-392-3900 for registration and information. Kindergarten Round-Up Thursday, March 7th at 9 AM and 6 PM in Room 205. There are currently openings for preschool part time aides and substitute teachers. We also collect Coke Rewards, aluminum cans and Loaves for Learning. The first grade is collecting pop tops to help Shriners Hospital purchase children’s wheelchairs. There is a container in the gathering space of our church for your donations.
