RCIA AT ST. FRANCIS Sessions continue on Thursday evenings (6:30-8:00 PM) in the Garden Room. New members are welcomed into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil on Saturday, April 20th. Please keep our candidates in your prayers.

ANNUAL ROAST BEEF DINNER – PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 14 – 11 AM – 4 PM

We rely on volunteers to make this event a success and you are invited to sign up for one of our many volunteer shifts available. Whether you choose to bake desserts, help set up, or work the event, know that your time is extremely appreciated. We always need help with dish duty (especially the last shift) too! Sign-up sheets are located in the gathering space of church. Middle and high school students are encouraged to participate and this counts as service hours. Younger children are welcome to help but must be accompanied by an adult. Questions should be directed to Ken at

CHRISM MASS – TUESDAY, APRIL 9TH – NOON – CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING

Parishioners are welcome to attend the Mass and the luncheon that follows. The parish will pay for lunch; however, reservations must be made at the parish office (715-398-7174) no later than March 27th.

ST. FRANCIS PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL met recently. Copies of the minutes are available on the table in the gathering space of the church.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION INFORMATION:

Sunday, March 17th Classes K-5 9:15 AM

YOUTH MASS & SECOND GRADE RECOGNITION this Sunday, at the 10:30 Mass.

Parents of the second graders will meet with Fr. Jim on Tuesday, March 19th 6:30-8 PM in the Garden Room.

Tuesday, March 19th Adult Formation 9:30 AM

Wednesday, March 20th Classes 6-8 6:00 PM

Classes 9-11 7:15 PM

Students will participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Saturday, March 23rd Private Lenten Confessions 11:00 AM – NOON

DIOCESE OF SUPERIOR – YOUTH RALLY is scheduled for April 24th – 6 PM – 9 PM.

The event will be held at St. Anthony Parish in Superior. Plan to attend for an evening of praise and worship; a keynote talk, food, fellowship, fun and games. The featured special guests will be Nate Reinhardt and Kory LaCroix. The cost is $15 per student which will be paid by the parish. Registrations are due by April 3rd. LOOKING AHEAD – ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY Plans are being made for the annual ‘THIS N’ THAT SALE” scheduled for May 17-18. Please begin saving items you wish to donate (no clothing, bedding, mattresses or box springs). Watch future bulletins for the schedule of dates to bring your items. Thank you! ACTIVITY BAGS are now available for small children attending Mass. The smallest bags for the younger children contain “Colors of Faith Bears” that become the property of the children. They should continue to utilize these bags and bears when they come to Mass. The larger bags contain books that explain different aspects of the Catholic Faith. These bags and books should be returned as children leave church. Each bag has a different book, so children can expect to get a different book each time they come to Mass. All bags can be found in the cry room.

CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS Preschool registration is now open. Cathedral Preschool offers 3 and 4 year old program. Please contact Amanda Schnell at 715-392-3900 for registration and information. There are currently openings for preschool part time aides and substitute teachers. Please send resumes and cover letter to Jaime Samarziya, 1419 Baxter Avenue, Superior, WI. 54880 or email. Please remember to save all General Mills boxtops, Milk Moola (will end on March 22nd) plastic covers from milk jugs of all sizes. orange juice, juice drinks, ice cream and tops of plastic milk bags. We also collect Coke Rewards, aluminum cans and Loaves for Learning. The first grade is collecting pop tops to help Shriners Hospital purchase children’s wheelchairs. There is a container in the gathering space of our church for your donations.
