BLESSING OF THROATS Next weekend, February 1-2, following all Masses,
Fr. Jim will offer the blessing of throats in honor of St. Blaise. If you wish to have your throat blessed, gather at the front of the church.
AS WE ENTER THE COLD AND FLU SEASON our parish has made changes to the distribution of Holy Communion to help prevent the spread of illness. The distribution of Holy Communion will be limited to the host alone with only the priest having the chalice. This is a temporary liturgical modification that will be lifted once we are through the cold and flu season.
59TH ANNUAL SALAD BAR LUNCHEON – SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 8 – NOON
The menu will feature a variety of homemade salads, hot German potato salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and children under age 5 are free. There will be door prizes as well as the annual raffle drawings. If you have not yet received your raffle tickets they will be delivered soon. More tickets are available.
Please note: In the gathering space in the back of church you will find sign-up sheets. Please sign up to bring a salad, prizes, donate a gift card (or 2) or help the day of the luncheon. Salads should be brought to the parish hall the morning of the event between 8 and 10 AM. Thank you! PASTA EXTRAVAGANZA is planned for February 1st in Kress Hall at the Cathedral Parish. This event began in 2012 as a way to raise money for Cathedral School to use to pay tuition assistance and special needs when a school family experiences a crisis. Eleven families have benefitted thus far. Why not enter your favorite sauce? Call Jessica at Cathedral 715-392-8511 for further details. The event will begin at 4:30 PM unti9l 7:00 PM featuring pasta/sauce, bread and salad. A free will offering will be accepted.
EXPRESSIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP – 2019/20 CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL
If you have not yet responded to the 2019-20 CSA, please set aside a moment to prayerfully consider a gift amount that your means will permit. A total of $36,925 has been pledged from our parishioners. Our parish “fair share” responsibility for the coming year is $51,346. Thank you to all who have already pledged.
SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL if you or anyone you know is in need of clothing, food or household goods, we have a great supply. Our only shortages are gloves for men and women as well as coats in extra-large sizes. If you have time to spare, we are always in need of people to help sort and organize donations. Come to the Catholic Charities Building, 1416 Cumming Avenue, on Tuesdays from 1:30-3:30 or Thursdays from 2:00 – 4:30 PM. Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 28th at 6 PM at the above address.
