58TH ANNUAL SALAD BAR LUNCHEON – FEBRUARY 9 – NOON
The menu will feature a variety of homemade salads, hot German potato salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. Tickets are $9 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and children under age 5 are free.
There will be door prizes as well as the annual raffle drawings.
NOTE: In the gathering space in the back of the church you will find a sign-up sheet. Please sign up to bring a salad, donate a gift card (or 2), or help the day of the luncheon. MARK YOUR CALENDARS Plans are being made for “A Reception of Gratitude” scheduled for Sunday, January 27th, 2-4 PM in the parish hall. The event will celebrate the completion of our elevator and renovation of our parish hall. Lunch will be served.

CONFIRMATION RETREAT for all students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation (a requirement for Confirmation) will be held here in our parish on February 2, 2019 beginning at 8:30 AM with registration and concluding at 5:00 PM. The day will include confessions and Mass at 4:00 PM. Sister Lisa, from the College of St. Scholastica, and a group of her students will conduct the retreat. A light breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided. Cost is $10 per student to help defray the cost of the food. Please call Ernie at 715-394-6489 or at the parish at 715-398-7175 to register. Parents are asked to help in serving or clean-up.
ST. FRANCIS FOOD SHELF There are several items needed for our food shelf. These items include cereal, boxed potatoes, pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter, jelly, crackers, rice and spaghettios. Monetary donations are also needed which are used to purchase grocery gift cards.
COMMUNION MINISTERS NEEDED St. Mary’s Hospital, Superior, is looking for Eucharistic Ministers to bring communion to patients. Volunteers are dwindling. Communion Ministers will be on a schedule once or twice a month. New volunteers are welcome! Orientation and training will be offered by staff at the hospital. Please call the parish office to volunteer.
CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS - PANCAKE BREAKFAST On Sunday, January 27th the Cathedral Athletic Association will hold their annual Pancake Breakfast in Kress Hall from
8 AM-Noon. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, juice, milk and coffee. A free-will offering will be accepted. Proceeds will help support the athletic department at the school.
There are currently openings for preschool part time aides and substitute teachers. Please remember to save all General Mills boxtops, Milk Moola, plastic covers from milk jugs of all sizes. orange juice, juice drinks, ice cream and tops of plastic milk bags. We also collect Coke Rewards, aluminum cans and Loaves for Learning. There is a container in the gathering space of our church for your donations.
PASTA EXTRAVAGANZA CONTEST – FEBRUARY 2nd 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM Do you have the best pasta sauce recipe in the Northland? Put your sauce to the test by entering the contest. This event, hosted by the Knights of Columbus, Council 16691 will benefit the Cathedral School.
