ST. FRANCIS SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE will once again be collecting new pajamas and socks to be distributed to those in our community. There is a box in the gathering area for your donations. Thank you for your continuing support!

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NOTES

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15 Classes Grades K-5

We are asking all students from our parish who attend Cathedral School to attend class this Sunday, December 15th from 9; 15 AM – 10:15 AM. They will meet in the Garden Room.

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 17 Adult Bible Study at 9:30 AM

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18 Class for 6-8 at 6 PM/9-11 at 7:15 PM

Middle School Large Group Event for Advent

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21 Sacrament of First Penance – 10:30 AM

ST. FRANCIS ALTAR SOCIETY ANNUAL COOKIE STROLL Another successful cookie bake! Thank you to all who participated by planning, baking, monetary donations, shopping and working the stroll. Thank you, too, to Super One for donating the cookie containers and bags for the shoppers. Again, thank you to all who helped make this year’s event a success! This year’s profit was $3700.00.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2020!

BREATH OF HEAVEN ADVENT CONCERT is planned for Sunday, December 15th at 4 PM St. James Catholic Church located at 721 N. 57th Ave W in Duluth. One of the featured artists will be Jeff Urbaniak on the organ. Jeff often plays in our parish for funerals.

CANDLELIGHT SERVICE OF LESSONS & CAROLS Sunday, December 15th at 4:00 PM at Pilgrim Lutheran Church with guest musicians from the Twin Ports. The afternoon will also include the Pilgrim Choir. All are welcome!

EXPRESSIONS OF DISCIPLESHIP – 2019/20 CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL

If you have not yet responded to the 2019-20 CSA, please set aside a moment to prayerfully consider a gift amount that your means will permit. A total of $29,940 has been pledged from our parishioners representing 119 families. Our parish “fair share” responsibility for the coming year is $51,346. Thank you to all who have already pledged.

CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS

The Middle School Christmas Concert is planned for Wednesday, December 18 at 6 PM in the Cathedral of Christ the King Church.

Substitute teachers are needed. A 4 year degree is required but does not have to be in education.

We are still accepting registrations for K-8 for this school year.

Please continue to save pop tabs for our 1st graders and Box Tops for Education, Coke Rewards, aluminum cans, cancelled stamps and Loaves 4 Learning.
