SCHOOL SUPPLIES The social action committee of the parish will once again be conducting their annual program asking for donations of school supplies. Notebooks, backpacks, crayons, pencils, notebook paper, pens, etc. etc. There is a box in the gathering space of our church for you to place your donations. These will be given to Cathedral School, St. Vincent DePaul and any other facility that
provides help with families. If you know of a family who needs supplies please call the parish office (715-398-7174) and let us know so we are able to help. (This call would be confidential.) ST. FRANCIS PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday, August 27th at 4:30 PM in the Garden Room. Parishioners are always welcome!
ST. FRANCIS SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE continues to work in our parish food shelf. We are always in need of the following:
Boxed Mac & Cheese Canned Soups Cereal
Saltine Crackers Pancake Mix Syrup
Canned Vegetables Canned Fruit
Also monetary donations are always welcome – these are used for the families we serve to purchase perishable items – milk, bread, etc.
CATHEDRAL SCHOOL MEET & GREET NEWS… on Thursday, August 29th from 9 AM – 1 PM you are welcome to bring in your school supplies and meet your teachers. School supply lists can be found on the school website: http://www.superiorcathedralschool.org. School pictures will be in Kress Hall. Students will get a 2 pose proof order form after the pictures are taken. Pictures can be ordered at Meet & Greet or at the start of school. We are looking for a Hot Lunch Coordinator (29 hours weekly) for the upcoming 2019-20 school year. ST. WILLIAM’S PARISH ANNUAL HAM & MEATLOAF DINNER is being planned for Sunday, September 8th from 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM. The menu will include ham, meatloaf, potatoes/gravy, buttered carrots, coleslaw, pickles, rolls, coffee and dessert. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 years of age, pre-schoolers are free. Take-outs are available. There will be a bake sale, country garden market and silent auction. Drive one mile west of WI Highway 35 (Pattison Park) on County Road B. The church is wheelchair accessible.
SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL We continue to distribute clothing and school supplies – if you know of families in need please have them call us at
715-398-4039. Donations are collected on the 3rd Sundays of the month at the Cathedral or can be dropped off at the Catholic Charities Building, 1416 Cumming Avenue. You are invited to join us at our next meeting on Tuesday, August 27th at 6 PM at the above address.
