OUR SAVING PASTOR We are cleaning out the storage closet in the parish office and are using left-over bulletin covers from the past year. Enjoy the “golden oldies!”

+HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION This week on Thursday, August 15, we celebrate the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. We will be having Mass at 9:00 AM. Please plan to join us.

IMPACT – BRING FAITH TO LIFE. FIND LIFE IN FAITH for the month of August is attached to your bulletin this week. Be sure to take your copy home for some very valuable information. There are extra on the table in the gathering area of the church if you would like to take one to someone who is unable to be here.

ADULT BIBLE STUDY This week Ernie Swartz will begin the Adult Bible Series on Tuesday at 9:30 AM. The topic will be the Book of Matthew and will run for seven weeks. All are welcome! If you would like more information contact Ernie at 715-398-7175.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES The social action committee of the parish will once again be conducting their annual program asking for donations of school supplies. Notebooks, backpacks, crayons, pencils, notebook paper, pens, etc. etc. There is a box in the gathering space of our church for you to place your donations. These will be given to Cathedral School, St. Vincent DePaul and any other facility that

provides help with families. If you know of a family who needs supplies please call the parish office (715-398-7174) and let us know so we are able to help. (This call would be confidential.) Thank you for your continuing generosity. If you have any questions or would like more information contact Marilee at 715-399-8252 or Janet at 715-394-4130.

MINISTRY SCHEDULING We will be completing the scheduling for the months of September, October and November this week. Please call the parish office to let us know of any weekend(s) you are unable to serve in your particular ministries. We are always in need of CROSS/CANDLE/GIFT BEARERS, READERS, SERVERS, COMMUNION MINISTERS & USHERS. Training is offered. Please consider serving your parish family in one (or more) of these very important volunteer opportunities. Thank you!

ST. FRANCIS SCHOOL ALL-SCHOOL REUNION was held here over the past Saturday. It was a wonderful celebration of returning to our beautiful church and renewing old friendships. Thank you to all who made this event possible! And mark your calendars – this will now be an annual event – the 1st Saturday of August. See you there!

CATHEDRAL SCHOOL NEWS We are looking for a Hot Lunch Coordinator (29 hours weekly) for the upcoming 2019-20 school year. Send resumes for any of these positions to: Mrs. Samarziya, 1419 Baxter Avenue, Superior, WI. 54880 or jsamarziya@superiorcathedralschool.org. Cathedral School registration has begun for grades K-8. If you are interested in registering please call the school office at 715-392-2976.

SOCIETY OF ST. VINCENT dePAUL If you wish to donate backpacks you can bring them to the Catholic Charities Building at 1416 Cumming Avenue Monday through Thursdays. We are currently distributing clothing and school supplies to those in need. Would you like to help us distribute and/or sort? This will be done on Thursdays from 12-4:30 PM. Come meet our friendly volunteers as they serve our brothers and sisters in need. Call us at 715-398-4039 if you are in need of school clothing. Please consider joining us at our next meeting on Tuesday, August 13th at 6 PM at the above address.
